Megaloads to resume moving on U.S. 95 tonight
LEWISTON - Megaloads carrying equipment for Imperial Oil are scheduled to resume tonight following a suspension after a non-injury accident last week. The Idaho Transportation Department made the announcement Wednesday in an e-mail that provided no information about what steps are being taken to avoid another accident. Two oversized shipments carrying components for a processing plant in the Kearl Oil Sands in Alberta, Canada, will leave the Port of Lewiston after 8 p.m. and take U.S. Highway 95 to Coeur d'Alene. A third module parked north of Moscow will resume its travel today during the same hours. It's not clear if that megaload is the one involved in the accident. The rigs take up two lanes of traffic and are supposed to pull over every 15 minutes to allow following vehicles to pass.
