Over 50, Fruitland Interchange overpass spanning I-84 to be repaired this summer
PAYETTE COUNTY - The 52-year-old U.S. 95 interchange bridge overpass spanning I-84 in Fruitland will be repaired in a project this summer, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.
"The bridge deck and foundation for this bridge, at Exit 3, are considered to be in fair condition, with the superstructure in good condition," said ITD bridge engineer Matt Farrar.
The concrete deck will be overlayed and pier caps and columns patched in this project to extend the life of the bridge, built in 1960. The bridge parapet and railing will also be replaced.
Work will also be done to smoothly tie the bridge approaches into the road on each end of the bridge. Click here for a picture of the bridge and project location.
Cannon Builders Inc., of Blackfoot, is the apparent low bidder for this $763,290 project.
