Pole Line Road bridge work beginning next week
TWIN FALLS – Crews will begin a project to apply an epoxy overlay to the Perrine Coulee Bridge on U.S. 93/Pole Line Road early next week, the Idaho Transportation Department announced. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction between Canyon Crest Drive and Harrison Street for about three days.
Beginning Monday (Aug. 6) crews will clean the surface of the roadway and sidewalk prior to applying the epoxy resin and gravel aggregate. The maintenance project will cover the bridge and protect against cracking and corrosion, restore the surface strength and skid resistance, and improve lifespan of the bridge deck.
About half of the Perrine Coulee Bridge will be closed at a time while crews apply the overlay. Drivers are urged to use caution through the work zone and follow the reduced speed limit.
The Perrine Coulee Bridge is one of three structures included in this contract along with Raft River Interchange on I-86 and Juniper Interchange on I-84 where work is expected to begin later this month. Idaho Construction Company, of Kimberly, is the contractor for the $565,172 project.
