Get engaged and help plan future of public transportation in Idaho
through online survey, open houses

The public can help provide a roadmap for the future of public transportation in Idaho through an interactive online survey available now, and at a series of open houses in the second week of January. The resulting transit plan will facilitate mobility for the citizens of Idaho and visitors to the state, by helping to build the economy and move workers to jobs and consumers to markets.

The open houses will all be held from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the following locations:

Jan. 9 – Rigby, ITD District Administrative Office at 206 N. Yellowstone Avenue
Jan. 10 – Pocatello, ITD District Administrative Office at 5151 S. 5th Avenue
and Boise, College of Western Idaho at 5500 E. Opportunity Drive (Nampa)
Jan. 11 – Coeur d'Alene, ITD District Administrative Office at 600 W. Prairie Avenue
and Shoshone, ITD District Administrative Office at 216 S. Date Street
Jan. 12 – Lewiston, ITD District Administrative Office at 2600 Frontage Road

The Statewide Public Transportation Plan will create a framework for building an integrated transit system to meet the needs of Idahoans. Policies will result that identify and support programs and projects that increase mobility, efficiency and integration.

By offering greater transportation choices to all segments of the state's population, Idaho can improve access to and connectivity between transportation modes, relieve congestion, improve air quality, promote environmental stewardship, and improve coordination of services with other providers.

Through this winter, and the spring of 2017, the public will also have the opportunity to comment on the draft plan created following these open house meetings and the online surveys.

In addition, the public is encouraged to check back on the project webpage for updates.

The transportation planning process is guided by Title VI and ADA mandates, and strives to not only meet these mandates, but to create an overall transparent, inclusive planning process.
