HQ's Leadership Book Club kicks off 2017 with new tome

The full title, Team of Teams, New Rules of Engagement for a Complex World, gets to the heart of this book. Gen. McChystal, with help from authors Tantum Collins, David Sulverman, and Chris Fussell, takes readers through his experience in the warzones of Iraq. Here’s an excerpt from the book’s description:

“In this powerful book, McChrystal and his colleagues show how the challenges they faced in Iraq can be relevant to countless businesses, nonprofits, and other organizations. The world is changing faster than ever, and the smartest response for those in charge is to give small groups the freedom to experiment while driving everyone to share what they learn across the entire organization. As the authors argue through compelling examples, the team of teams strategy has worked everywhere from hospital emergency rooms to NASA. It has the potential to transform organizations large and small.”

The book club will meet on Tuesday, Jan. 10 from noon to 1 p.m. in the HQ East Annex Conference Room.  The first meeting will focus on the introduction chapter and will be led by Toby Mouser.

Please bring your own copy of the book.   Books can be purchased in hardback, paperback, Kindle, audio or CD on Amazon or checked out through your local library, if available.
