I-90 project advancement, employee service awards to highlight
March 15-16 board meeting

The request to advance a pavement-repair project in north Idaho and employee service awards will highlight the March 15-16 Idaho Transportation Board Meeting in Boise. A workshop will be held in the East Annex Conference Room March 15, with the regular meeting following the next day in the Headquarters Auditorium at 3311 W. State Street.

Some of the topics of discussion at the workshop will include winter operations, project delivery, and funding options for the FY22 Idaho Transportation Investment Program (ITIP).

I-90 Pavement Restoration Project
At its business meeting on March 16 in the auditorium, the board will be asked to add a pavement restoration project to the ITIP.

The pavement on I-90 in the Coeur d’Alene has deteriorated due to the severe winter weather. The record precipitation coupled with ongoing extremely low temperatures caused the damage. A six-mile pavement restoration project for $5 million is being requested in the FY17 ITIP to address the deteriorating pavement.

Professional Services Agreements and Term Agreement Work Tasks
Every month, staff reports on the new professional-services agreements and work tasks processed the previous month.

In February, 16 were processed. Of those, 13 were needed because internal resources were not available for work such as design, public involvement, surveying, and bridge inspections. The professional-services agreements and work tasks totaled $1.7 million.

Additionally, six supplemental agreements of $89,000 were processed, adding to existing professional-services agreements.

Employee Service Awards
The board will also participate in the employee service awards at 10 a.m, recognizing 40 department employees for achieving milestones in their years of state service. District 4 Board Member Jim Kempton will provide remarks on behalf of the board.
