1,000th idea submitted to ITD innovation program

The 1,000th idea in the fledgling Innovate ITD! program came May 15 from DMV — a customer-service improvement idea to more efficiently process title lien notifications. Number 1,000 was submitted by Barry Takeuchi, Chris Fisher, Jeanne Purcell (pictured above, l to r) and Jeff Oien (not pictured).

“Encouraging and sharing ideas is the cornerstone of the innovation process, and recognizing this milestone serves as a reminder just how important idea sharing is to the way we work at ITD, said ITD innovation champion Charlene McArthur, Chief Administrative Officer. “The fact that it came from DMV is also not a surprise — they have been frequent contributors since Day One. In fact, it was only one of the four ideas from them on that day!”

Since inception in 2014, the program has produced more than 660 implemented innovations, creating nearly $5 million in savings and efficiencies, with more than 150,000 hours saved.

“The inspiration is to watch how a single shared idea can blossom and grow into something much bigger than originally conceived,” McArthur added.
