Lakey assumes new D3 Engineering Manager role            

ITD's Caleb Lakey has accepted the position as the District 3 Engineering Manager. The move comes as current Engineering Manager Amy Schroeder heads back to headquarters to lead the GARVEE office.

Lakey has been with the department for five years, most recently as the HQ Transportation Systems Manager. Prior to that, he served as the Asset Management Engineer and a staff engineer in the HQ Environmental section.

“I am very excited to join the D3 team. Coming to the district from Headquarters will be a learning curve for me, but I look forward to getting to know the staff and learning from them,” Lakey said. “They are good at what they do.”

Lakey received his B.S. in Engineering from the U.S. Military Academy, West Point and spent 5.5 years on active duty before moving back to Boise, where he is originally from.

Lakey and his wife have three girls ranging in age from 18 months to 7 years old.
