District 3 completes I-84 repairs, paving in Canyon County             

District 3 and its contractor successfully completed repaving a heavily traveled section of Interstate 84 in Canyon County over the course of just four weekends this summer—wrapping up the project during the second weekend of July.

While a project of this scale traditionally takes months to complete working alongside traffic, the use of weekend crossover kept all lanes of I-84 open during the week to keep the freeway open during the weekday commute. Two lanes were open at all times while weekend work occurred around the clock.

ITD expedited paving the freeway through Canyon County after harsh winter weather accelerates pavement deterioration.
