Brown-bag luncheon planned for Transportation Research Board
visit to ITD on Oct. 24
          

Staff from the national Transportation Research Board (TRB) will be visiting ITD Headquarters on Oct. 24 to meet with ITD management and staff. As part of the visit, there will be a brown-bag lunch in the auditorium with video conferencing in each of the districts. The noon session is open to all ITD staff. Anyone interested in learning more about TRB is encouraged to attend.

TRB is part of the National Academy of Sciences and manages a number of national research programs including the National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP), the Transit Cooperative Research Program, and the Airport Cooperative Research Program. TRB also hosts conferences and webinars on a wide range of transportation issues, and maintains a publically-available database with information about more than 1.1. million transportation research documents.

Scott Brotemarkle (pictured right), the Sr. Program Officer at TRB focusing on intermodal freight issues, and Lori Sundstrom, Manager of the NCHRP, will lead the discussion. They will provide information on research programs they manage, and share information about how staff can access materials (reports, journal articles, etc.), participate in webinars and conferences, and get involved in TRB activities.

District 2 – Map Room
District 3 – Regional Small Conference Room
District 4 – Video Room
District 5 – Conference Room 2
District 6 – Small Conference Room

Students and researchers from Boise State University, Idaho State University, and the University of Idaho have also been invited to participate.
