ITD partners with TransportationYOU to offer girls career glimpse          

A handful of girls age 13-18 visited ITD November 3 to learn about all of the interesting things going on in the organization, and give them an interactive, hands-on experience and glimpse of potential transportation careers.

Through the program, WTS (Women in Transportation Seminars) chapters work to make a difference in the lives of young girls by offering programs and activities to spark their interest in all modes of transportation. The goal is also to encourage them to take courses in STEM — science, technology, engineering, and math — which can provide the foundation to exciting careers that may change the face of the transportation industry. 

The girls visited many parts of ITD, including the Chemistry, Binder, Mix, Aggregate, Soils, and Structure labs, a visit to Pavement Testing, and a short introduction to Enterprise Technology Services.
