Safety message overrides rivalries          

The Boise State Broncos and Nevada Wolfpack have a sports rivalry spanning decades, while the rivalry between the Broncos and Nevada-Las Vegas (UNLV) is still developing. Despite what happens on the field or the court, highway safety officials want fans in both states to make it home safely.

This year, Colonel Kedrick Wills of the Idaho State Police and his counterpart from Nevada, Colonel John O’Rourke, crossed state lines to share a safety message to be played during the games in Reno, Las Vegas, and Boise.

Through a partnership with the Office of Highway Safety, messages filmed with the two colonels will be shown at the BSU vs UNLV game on February 3, and another as the Broncos host the Wolfpack on Valentine’s Day.
