Surplus county workstations donated to Idaho schools

After the department replaced the county DMV workstations with more powerful computers and larger monitors in November 2017, it had 400 older units to dispose of. So, instead of sending them to the landfill, the department donated the units to Idaho school districts and the YMCA.

"These donations save schools and nonprofit agencies money and allow more kids to spend more time on computers," ITD Storekeeper Jeff Osieczonek said.

Jeff estimates the 102 old county hard drives the Kuna School District received saved it thousands of dollars compared to purchasing them new.

ITD offers its used computers, printers and network and server equipment to schools statewide.
