Shoshone's Stowell wins D4 equipment roadeo

Last Thursday (May 24) proved to be a glorious spring day in the south central region. The sun was shining, the birds were chirping, and a soft breeze occasionally danced across the asphalt as engines cranked and crowds cheered at the District 4 Annual Equipment Roadeo.

It was an exciting day of ITD camaraderie as more than 60 employees gathered at the Twin Falls maintenance yard to watch colleagues put their talent and training to the test with an assortment of challenging courses. Competition ran the gamut in terms of age and discipline, and the event proved to once again be a tremendous learning opportunity for all who attended.

As tough as competition was, in the end only one competitor could reign supreme and that individual was longtime employee Allan Stowell from the Shoshone foreman area. Tony Rigby came in second and Burton Stanley came in third, while Allen Knight and Shane Wayment took fourth and fifth place, respectively.

Next up for the finalists will be the state competition which is slated to take place in Orofino, Idaho later this season.
