One Highways: Statewide Project Collaboration Team
launched for best pavement practices

A Statewide Project Collaboration Team (SPCT), made up of employees from all districts and headquarters, has joined together to capture ITD’s best practices on pavement rehabilitation projects.

This nine-member team has been working diligently since January to compile information. Their objective is to promote the "One Highways" philosophy by developing a guide for working on design projects across district lines. The team is also gathering best practices from around the state to create a template of Plans, Specifications, and Estimate (PS&E) materials for basic pavement-rehabilitation projects.

SPCT is currently focused on five design projects throughout the state (listed below). Each of the projects will be used to pilot the new standard procedures. While testing the procedures, the team can identify any issues and work to resolve them in the process. The concept is to take the best ideas from across the state and implement them into a standard practice for all future pavement-rehabilitation projects.
