FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
REMINDER: Bicycle and pedestrian mobility plans to be discussed in eastern Idaho Tuesday-Thursday
BOISE - Statewide bicycle and pedestrian mobility visioning results will be presented Tuesday through Thursday (Feb. 24-26) in Idaho Falls, Victor and Pocatello, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.
In January, people around the state expressed their preferred vision for non-motorized mobility at the community, regional and state levels, Bicycle and Pedestrian Coordinator Mark McNeese said.
"Some great ideas were expressed during those January discussions,"
said McNeese. "I think people will be surprised at how consistent they
were from city to city and region to region.
Individuals interested in hearing the results of those discussions are invited to attend this public presentation.
"Once we come to agreement on our vision, then we'll start working on the building blocks that will need to exist to make it happen," said McNeese.
"The vision we adopt will guide us into the future, so we need to make sure we get it right."
The three forums in eastern Idaho are as follows:
Idaho Falls - Tuesday, Feb. 24: 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., Bonneville Metropolitan Planning Organization conference room, 1810 W. Broadway, Ste. 15
Victor - Wednesday, Feb. 25: 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., Victor City Council chambers, 32 Elm Street
Pocatello - Thursday, Feb. 26: 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Bannock Transportation Planning Office conference room, 214 E. Center
Similar discussions were held in Moscow, Lewiston, Sandpoint and Coeur d'Alene Feb. 10-12.
If you cannot make it to the presentation but would like to see the results, McNeese can be contacted via email at mark.mcneese@itd.idaho.gov or by calling (208) 334-8272.
