FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Traffic alert: Vista Avenue to be restricted overnight Tuesday (Sept. 15) for interchange work

BOISE - Lane restrictions will continue on Vista Avenue near I-84 from 10 p.m. Tuesday (Sept. 15) to 5 a.m. Wednesday (Sept. 16). One lane will be open in both directions while the Idaho Transportation Department works on new bridge abutments for the interchange.

The structure is being reconstructed to ease congestion, increase safety and improve traffic flow. The $17.8 million project is expected to be complete in Fall 2010. Central Paving Inc. is the contractor.

Construction is funded through the federal stimulus program, created to generate jobs and help boost Idaho's economy while upgrading our foundation for future economic growth.

ITD and the Idaho State Police caution motorists to slow down and pay attention when driving in work zones, where increased speeding fines and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for information on the state highway or interstate system.
