Vista Traffic Alert: flaggers to direct traffic at two intersections Wednesday night (Sept. 23) and Thursday night (Sept. 24)
BOISE - Crews will remove old traffic signals and activate
new signals at two different intersections on Vista Avenue starting Wednesday
night (Sept. 23) and continuing Thursday night (Sept. 24). The signals are
being replaced as part of the Idaho Transportation Department's project to
rebuild the Vista Interchange.
At 10 p.m. Wednesday (Sept. 23), crews will shut off and
remove the old signal at the intersection of Vista Avenue and Airport
Way/Wright Street. Flaggers will direct traffic through the area until 5:30
a.m. Thursday (Sept. 24), when the new signal is activated.
At 10 p.m. Thursday (Sept. 24), crews will install the new
signal at the intersection of Vista Avenue and Elder Street/Sunrise Rim.
Flaggers will direct traffic until 5:30 a.m. Friday (Sept. 25).
Construction is expected to be complete in September 2010.
The contractor for the $17.8 million project is Central
Paving Inc. of Boise.
Project construction is funded through the federal stimulus
program, created to generate jobs and help boost Idahos economy while
upgrading our foundation for future economic growth.
ITD and the Idaho State Police caution motorists to slow
down and pay attention when driving in work zones, where increased speeding
fines and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and
dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for information on the state highway or
interstate system.
