BOISE
- A westbound lane on Interstate 84 will be closed overnight both Friday (Sept. 25)
and Saturday (Sept. 26) near the Orchard Interchange. The Idaho Transportation
Department is working to reconstruct the Orchard Interchange and crews are
installing guardrail in the area.
The outside westbound lane will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday night to 5 a.m. Saturday morning, and again from 10 p.m. Saturday night to 5 a.m. Sunday morning.
Construction is expected to be
complete in spring 2010.
The $15.1 million Orchard Street
Interchange project is funded through the GARVEE Transportation Program, which
uses Grant Anticipation Revenue Vehicle (GARVEE) bonds to expedite interstate
improvements.
ITD and the Idaho State Police caution motorists to slow
down and pay attention when driving in work zones, where increased speeding
fines and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and
dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for information on the state highway or
interstate system.
