FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

I-84 slab repair rescheduled for next Wednesday (Oct. 14)

BOISE - An Idaho Transportation Department project has been postponed until next Wednesday (Oct. 14) morning to repair and replace some badly deteriorated concrete slabs on I-84 eastbound west of Boise, weather permitting. The work was originally planned for yesterday (Wednesday, Oct. 7), but equipment was delayed for this work.

From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., state maintenance crews will work on the slab replacements from milepost 44 to 46, causing the closure of the two right-hand interstate lanes in that stretch. Two lanes will be closed (two lanes will remain open) and the speed limit will drop to 45 mph.

ITD and the Idaho State Police warn motorists to slow down and pay attention when driving in work zones, where increased speeding fines and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for information on the state highway or interstate system.
