FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

I-84 Update: Overnight lane closures will continue on I-84 between Cole and Vista interchanges Oct. 8-10

BOISE - Motorists can expect overnight lane closures on east- and westbound I-84 between the Cole and Vista interchanges tonight (Thursday, Oct. 8) through Saturday morning (Oct. 10) as the Idaho Transportation Department continues construction in the area.

At least one lane will be open on I-84 from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night. Two lanes will be open during the day.

Crews will be placing guardrail and working on the Orchard bridge deck.

ITD is reconstructing the Orchard and Vista interchanges and widening I-84 in Boise to improve traffic flow.

The GARVEE Transportation Program has funded design and construction of these projects, with the exception of the Vista Interchange construction, which is funded through federal stimulus dollars.

ITD and the Idaho State Police warn motorists to slow down and pay attention when driving in work zones, where increased speeding fines and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for information on the state highway or interstate system.
