FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Public asked to comment on Idaho 19 needs Wednesday and Thursday (Oct. 14-15)

BOISE - The public is invited to comment on managing Idaho 19 at open houses next Wednesday and Thursday (Oct. 14-15) in Caldwell and Homedale.

Idaho 19 is a mostly rural route that travels nearly 20 miles from the Oregon state line to Caldwell. The Idaho Transportation Department's corridor study will develop a long-range plan that identifies highway needs.

The Oct. 14 meeting will be held at The Caldwell Public Library, 1010 Dearborn Street. The Oct. 15 meeting will be held at the Homedale Senior Center, 224 W. Idaho. At both locations, there will be two identical meetings, the first from 4 to 5:30 p.m., and the second from 6 to 7 p.m.

The corridor study complies with ITD board policy, which is also consistent with federal planning guidance. The study and subsequent adopted plan will be used to chart Idaho 19 road improvements in the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP).
