I-84 Traffic Alert: Overnight lane closures on I-84 between Orchard and Vista interchanges this week

BOISE - Motorists can expect overnight lane closures on westbound I-84 between the Orchard and Vista interchanges tonight (Tuesday, Oct. 13) through Saturday morning (Oct. 17) as the Idaho Transportation Department continues construction in the area.

At least one lane will be open on westbound I-84 from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night. Two lanes will be open during the day.

Crews will be placing temporary pavement for a traffic shift later this winter.

ITD is widening I-84 in between the Cole and Broadway interchanges to improve traffic flow. The GARVEE Transportation Program has funded design and construction.

ITD and the Idaho State Police warn motorists to slow down and pay attention when driving in work zones, where increased speeding fines and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for information on the state highway or interstate system.
