FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Forecast of rain pushes I-84 slab repairs to Thursday (Oct. 15)

BOISE - Rain in the immediate forecast has pushed Idaho Transportation Department I-84 slab repairs back to Thursday (Oct. 15).  Had rain not been in the forecast, the badly deteriorated concrete slabs were to be replaced on the eastbound interstate west of Boise tomorrow.

From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., state maintenance crews will work on the slab replacements from milepost 44 to 46, causing the closure of the two right-hand interstate lanes in that stretch. Two lanes will be closed (two lanes will remain open) and the speed limit will drop to 45 mph.

ITD and the Idaho State Police warn motorists to slow down and pay attention when driving in work zones, where increased speeding fines and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for information on the state highway or interstate system.
