I-84 Traffic Alert: expect lane closures tonight (Tuesday, Oct. 27) on I-84 between Orchard and Vista

BOISE - One eastbound lane will be open on Interstate 84 as crews work tonight (Tuesday, Oct. 27) between the Orchard and Vista interchanges. The work is part of the Idaho Transportation Department's project to widen the interstate.

Crews will work overnight from 10 p.m. tonight to 5 a.m. Wednesday (Oct. 28) to place guardrail and pave shoulders.

ITD is widening I-84 between the Cole and Broadway interchanges to improve traffic flow, efficiently and safely. The GARVEE Transportation Program has funded design and construction. Construction for the project is $35.9 million. Concrete Placing Co. of Boise is the contractor for the project.

ITD and the Idaho State Police caution motorists to slow down and pay attention when driving in work zones, where increased speeding fines and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for information on the state highway or interstate system.
