I-84 Traffic Alert: Expect lane closures tonight and Thursday (Oct. 28-29) on I-84 between Orchard and Vista

BOISE - One eastbound lane will be open on Interstate 84 as crews work tonight (Wednesday, Oct. 28) and Thursday night (Oct. 29) between the Orchard and Vista interchanges. The work is part of the Idaho Transportation Department's project to widen the interstate.

Crews will be working in the median from 10 p.m. tonight (Oct. 28) to 5 a.m. Thursday (Oct. 29) and hauling material away. Work continues from 10 p.m. Thursday (Oct. 29) through 5 a.m. Friday (Oct. 30).

ITD is widening I-84 between the Cole and Broadway interchanges to improve traffic flow. The GARVEE Transportation Program has funded design and construction.

ITD and the Idaho State Police caution motorists to slow down and pay attention when driving in work zones, where increased speeding fines and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for information on the state highway or interstate system.
