Orchard Traffic Alert: I-84 traffic changes Thursday and Friday (Oct. 29-30) near Orchard Interchange

BOISE - Drivers should expect traffic changes on Interstate 84 Thursday and Friday (Oct. 29-30) near the Orchard Interchange. The Idaho Transportation Department suggests motorists drive with caution.

An eastbound and westbound lane on I-84 will be closed tonight (Oct. 29) and Friday night (Oct. 30) from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. to allow crews to move equipment and place guardrail.
Traffic will switch to the new eastbound off-ramp on Friday (Oct. 30).

McAlvain Group of Companies, Inc. is the contractor for the $15.1 million Orchard Interchange reconstruction project. The project is funded through the GARVEE Transportation Program, which uses Grant Anticipation Revenue Vehicle (GARVEE) bonds to expedite interstate improvements.

ITD and the Idaho State Police caution motorists to slow down and pay attention when driving in work zones, where increased speeding fines and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for information on the state highway or interstate system.
