I-84 Traffic: Expect overnight lane closures between Orchard and Vista Wednesday - Friday

BOISE - Motorists should plan for overnight lane closures on Interstate 84 between the Orchard and Vista interchanges Wednesday through Friday (Nov. 4-6). The Idaho Transportation Department has several improvement projects under way on I-84.

• One lane will be closed on east- and westbound I-84 from 10 p.m. Wednesday (Nov. 4) to 5 a.m. Thursday (Nov. 5). Crews are moving material out of the median and placing guardrail.
• An eastbound lane will be closed from 10 p.m. Thursday (Nov. 5) until 5 a.m. Friday (Nov. 6) near the Orchard Interchange on I-84. Motorists should watch for heavy equipment working in the area.

ITD is widening I-84 in between the Cole and Broadway interchanges to improve traffic flow and reconstruction the Orchard Interchange. The GARVEE Transportation Program has funded design and construction.

ITD and the Idaho State Police caution motorists to slow down and pay attention when driving in work zones, where increased speeding fines and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for information on the state highway or interstate system.
