NAMPA - Concrete Placing Co. Inc. of Boise is the apparent low bidder on I-84 improvements via the Idaho
Transportation Department for the Garrity Boulevard
Interchange Bridge and from 11th Avenue to Garrity Boulevard.
Construction is expected to last about 18 months, beginning in December and finishing in June 2011.
Bids on the project were opened yesterday (Tuesday, Nov. 3). The low bid of
$14.9 million was one of six bids received.
The project will remove two bridges at the Garrity Interchange in Nampa and
replace them with a single bridge to accommodate three lanes in each direction
on I-84. Work also includes reconstructing the interstate about a mile east of
the interchange to tie into the Garrity Interchange to Meridian Interchange
widening project currently under way on the interstate. An additional benefit
will be the removal of the bridge piers in the roadway at Garrity Boulevard.
This work is funded through the GARVEE Transportation Program, which uses
Grant Anticipation Revenue Vehicle (GARVEE) bonds to expedite interstate
improvements.
