I-84 lane restrictions expected tonight and Friday (Jan. 21-22) near Vista Interchange

BOISE - The outside lane will be closed overnight in each direction of Interstate 84 near the Vista Interchange tonight (Thursday, Jan. 21) and Friday night (Jan. 22) between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. The Idaho Transportation Department is reconstructing the Vista Interchange to improve traffic flow and increase safety.

The lane closures are needed for work on the bridge that spans I-84.

Construction is expected to be complete in summer 2010.

The contractor for the $17.8 million project is Central Paving Co. Inc. of Boise.

ITD and the Idaho State Police caution motorists to slow down and pay attention when driving in work zones, where increased speeding fines and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for information on the state highway or interstate system.
