FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Vista Interchange westbound on-ramp to shift overnight Monday

BOISE - Motorists are advised to pay attention when getting on westbound I-84 from Vista Avenue on Tuesday morning (April 13). The Idaho Transportation Department will move the westbound on-ramp entrance several feet to the south on Monday night. The move will allow crews to continue widening Vista Avenue.

One lane of westbound I-84 will be closed from 10 p.m. Monday (April 12) to 5 a.m. Tuesday while crews modify the ramp.

The on-ramp entrance will be adjusted again when the Vista Interchange is completed late this summer.

Reconstructing the interchange will improve traffic flow and safety at the interchange. Work began in July 2009.

ITD and the Idaho State Police caution motorists to slow down and pay attention when driving in work zones, where increased speeding fines and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for information on the state highway or interstate system.
