Governor gets aerial view of Dover Bridge construction

Gov. C.L. "Butch" Butch Otter recently visited Bonner County and had the opportunity to get a “bird’s eye” view of the Dover Bridge construction project. The governor flew over the project site in a Black Hawk helicopter. The bridge is being built using ARRA (American Reinvestment and Recovery Act) funds. The old bridge is a 295-foot trestle bridge built during the 1930s and now is the most restrictive bridge on U.S. 2 through Idaho. It will be replaced with a 72-foot-wide steel bridge. The highway will be realigned and provide improved access into the city of Dover.
