Human resource veteran chosen as HR program manager

I am pleased to announce that Bill Schurtz has been selected to fill the HR Program Manager position that is currently filled by Shanah Percy.

Shanah announced her intention to retire and will be leaving us in November.

Bill has a very valuable background having held a variety of positions in quality management during his time in the Air Force. He then worked for Direct TV where he was the process improvement manager and later a quality assurance manager.

Bill moved to the state government sector in 2001 and served as the Organizational Development Specialist at the Tax Commission for seven years. He was promoted to Human Resource Officer at the Division of Building Safety in 2008.

Bill brings a depth and breadth of background that will be invaluable as the Human Resource Division continues to improve service delivery and provide strategic workforce productivity initiatives to move the department toward being the best.

Bill will begin his employment here at ITD on September 19th.
