Credit union to provide brown-bag lunch series

Headquarters employees who want to learn at lunch are invited to take advantage of a monthly, brown-bag lunch series on finance provided by Icon Credit Union, beginning Tuesday.

Icon representatives will discuss a range of topics from noon to 1 p.m. in the Headquarters Auditorium. Classes will be focused on “making your money work for you.”

The first session, “How to Make Your Credit Score Work for You,” will provide information about how credit scores affect individual and family finances. It also offers tips on how to improve credit scores. Scores have a direct influence on the availability of credit and interest rates charged on loans.

Topics for the ensuing sessions are:

  • Investing in Your Kid’s Future, Oct. 18
  • Medicare ABCs: Understanding Medicare and Basic Pre-retirement Healthcare, Nov. 1
  • Retirement in 10 Days, Dec. 7
  • Blue Chips and Dips: Understanding the Stock Market, Jan. 4, and
  • Simplifying When to Take Social Security, Feb. 2
