PASS access system to make debut Monday

A new system that allows a single entry point for requesting and approving employee access will be unveiled Wednesday (Oct. 26) for supervisors and administrative support staff.

Several ITD sections have been working with Chicago-based software vendor Integrify to develop a new automated, network-based process that replaces paper-based forms (2333 and 1212), which grant access privileges to employees.

The new process includes access to computer systems and networks, building entry, telephone and voice mail, the active directory and fuel cards.

Permission Access Support System (PASS) will be available through the navigation bar on the left side of the Transporter. The introductory splash page is the entry point for the new system. It is intended for supervisors and support staff who traditionally request access privileges for employees in their section or contractors that need to access ITD buildings/networks.

Before using PASS access features, supervisors and support staff are encouraged to view three training videos linked to the splash page that explain essential functions of the system. Mark Borkowski of HR Training and Development created the videos.

The entry page also links to a spreadsheet that shows the access options available for Supervisors to select and explains what the access means.

It also will link to a list of employee identification numbers for subordinates who have or need access privileges. Adding or changing access requires the use of the five-digit employee ID numbers.

PASS will provide a history of changes for each employee and will give ITD a more efficient way to close out employee access upon separation.

Development of the system, which will create a better tracking method for employee access privileges, is a joint effort that included ITD”s Project Management Office, Business and Support Management, Finance, Payroll, ETS and Human Resource Services.
