Sandpoint crew earns top honors for costumes
at annual 'Blizzard Ball' in Montana

It’s not every day you can dress up in a silly costume, play outdoors in the snow and help a worthy cause. But that’s just what a group of employees from the Sandpoint Residency did recently. The gang trouped to Missoula, Montana, for the annual Blizzard Ball Tournament.

The tournament usually attracts about 35 to 40 teams each year, with all proceeds going to charity. This year the Battered Women Shelter was the recipient of their generosity. Participants also donated canned food items for the local food bank.

Each year, the tournament has a theme and contestants dress up in outrageous costumes reflecting that theme. Themes have included the color blue and the Sandpoint crew went as Smurfs. For the 60s theme, everyone was a hippie. This year the theme was Las Vegas, and everyone went as their favorite Vegas hotel. And as usual, the Sandpoint Residency crew won the best costume award.

Everyone really looks forward to participating in the tournament each year, and although they’ve never won, they enjoy the opportunity to have a lot of fun and support a good cause.
