Mountain Home workshop planned on doing business with government

Learn the rules of doing business with the government at a free workshop in Mountain Home at the end of the month.
The workshop will be held at the Mountain Home Public Library, 790 North 10th East, Feb. 28 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The program will feature presenters from ITD, the Idaho Department of Commerce, the Idaho Division of Purchasing, the U.S. Small Business Administration and Mountain Home Air Force Base.

Participants will discuss bidding with the state of Idaho, requirements for bidding as a federal contractor, how business certifications can give an advantage and otheD services available, like free bid-matching.

Other topics to be covered include how to learn about government contracts and how to compete for them, the difference between state and federal contracting, understanding the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) program, 8(a) Business Development Program, HUBZone Certification, other business certifications and where to go for assistance.
