Recommendations
Idaho’s public transit systems need a significant amount of funding in the future to have a sustainable system that meets the fixed-route and demand-response needs of Idaho communities. In addition, five highly populated areas need new or additional routes to meet the growing demands. Finally, an increase in bus service frequency is needed for many routes on the existing systems.

Other valid issues of consideration not addressed in the ASCE report may need to be evaluated in the future as Idaho’s population increases:

  • Technology advancements
  • Staff training
  • Compliant rates
  • Bus stop safety, and
  • On-time performance
