Document shredding events planned in Boise, Idaho Falls

The file cabinet is full, your antique computer sits unused in a corner and your flip phone has been in the back of a drawer for three years.

Time to clean up your life?

ITD will partner with several other Treasure Valley organizations next month to offer free secure document shredding, cell phone recycling and computer donations at the Headquarters parking lot.

Secure Your ID Day is sponsored by the Better Business Bureau, Western Records Destruction and Cintas from 10 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturday, April 21. KID radio (590 and 92.1) and Rock radio (94.9 and 104.5) also sponsor the event.

Individuals can take old checks, junk mail, bank statements and other personal documents, files and records – up to three boxes or paper bags – for shredding.

Representatives of Big Brothers Big Sisters also will collect old cell phones and SCS will collect computer hard drives and old computers for the Computers for Kids program.

A similar event for eastern Idaho and western Wyoming is planned on the same day, also from 10 a.m. to noon, at the Red Lion Hotel Parking Lot, 475 River Parkway, in Idaho Falls.
