ITD earns bronze for May in Motion

ITD earned a bronze designation for employee participation in the annual May in Motion alternative commute campaign.

Sponsored by Ada County Highway District’s Commuteride, the event encourages drivers to trade their personal vehicles for carpools, vanpools, bicycles and other forms of transportation. The intent is to reduce the number of commuters driving solo in the Treasure Valley.

Participation helps to improve the region’s air quality, reduces demands on the highway system, conserves fuel and saves money, and in many cases improves individuals’ health.

The organizational awards are based on ITD’s participation in three categories:

  • alternative transportation incentives and subsidies ITD offer’s employees
  • participation in May in Motion
  • promotion of alternative transportation

Several ITD employees also received incentive awards from ACHD. They were:

  • Althea Fackrell, ACHD soft-sided lunch bag
  • Betty Oaks, ACHD disc Frisbee
  • Renee’ Becker-Johnson, ACHD reflective arm band, and
  • Joyce Robertson, ACHD beach towel
