Regional report of fire impacts

North: No impact due to wildland fires.

North Central
Several small fires across the area with a campground closure to facilitate helicopter firefighting support. Other trail closures in effect as well. Potential thunderstorms through Wednesday.

Southwest
Trinity Ridge Fire, Elmore County is exhibiting extreme fire behavior Roads to Atlanta remain closed to all traffic but fire personnel. Mandatory evacuation for Pine and Featherville is still being considered. Fire is at 90,664 acres and 5 percent contained. Structure protection in Pine/Featherville area.

Springs Fire between Crouch and Banks is at 6,150 acres and 100 percent contained. Traffic on Idaho 55 is 35 mph and on both Idaho 55 and Banks to Lowman highways.

Evacuations: Dutch Creek, Swanholm, Weatherby and Queen River Campground. Persons with health conditions in Atlanta area are advised to leave the area.

South Central
Minidoka Complex (Cassia/Twin Falls Counties) at 97,616 acres and 3 of 4 fires are 100% contained. Deer Hollow Fire is 97 percent contained at 5,440 acres. A Burned Area Emergency Rehabilitation (BAER) team is in place.

Transition to a Type 4 Management Team today, to monitor status. Interior continues to smolder and crew continue to rehab and monitor the perimeter.

Southeast
Area-wide air quality issues remain a concern due to smoke from local fires and those in Central and Western Idaho. No additional impacts.

Northeast
Mustang Complex Structure protection measures are in place around homes in the Spring Creek area, as well as the Shoup Store. Travelers can reach the Shoup Store; however, the Spring Creek Road is closed north from the junction with the Salmon River Road. Salmon River Road open to Colson Creek residents, jet boaters leaving Corn Creek and Middle Fork river rafters taking out at Stoddard, Cache Bar and Corn Creek.

The Mustang Complex Fire grew 85,537 acres and 6 percent contained, Structure protection work around Salmon River homes and businesses has prevented the loss of any buildings, and no residents or firefighters have been injured.

Halstead Fire, Custer County current burned 91,987 acres and 5 percent contained. An additional Type 1 helicopter joined the Halstead Fire aviation assets. Bench Fire is 100 percent contained

Both Custer and Lemhi counties in Red Level air quality alerts.

Evacuations: Sheriff issued 24-hour, Aug. 17, evacuation notice for all residents and campers from Sunbeam Store to and including Custer and from Jordan Creek to Loon Creek summit, to be executed by 5 p.m.
