ISP, emergency responders produce video warning

The next number you text could be your own statistic.

That’s the message delivered clearly and with authority in a recent YouTube video prepared by the Idaho State Police and Jerome County paramedics and firefighters.

The 30-second video message warns motorists to avoid texting while driving. Not only is it an unsafe driving distraction, but it became illegal on July 1.

Texting can wait, according to spokesman Sgt. Hitt of ISP. He said violators will be stopped and cited.

“Please get home safe, and remember the next number you may text could be your own statistic.
