Brown-bag session will focus on maintaining life balance

It’s often referred to as keeping a number of balls in the air at the same time … juggling work and your personal life. But how do you keep them in the air, juggling personal and professional pursuits, without dropping one of the balls?

Does juggling work and your personal life seem overwhelming? How are you bringing joy into your life? Finding balance in life creates a sense of wellbeing and a positive outlook.

A noon-hour (12 to 1 p.m.) event scheduled for Tuesday in the Darrel V Manning Boardroom and Auditorium at Headquarters will help employees look objectively at their life, identify areas that need more attention, and develop a plan to regain balance.

“Life Balance and Simplifying,” is a brown-bag luncheon presented by Treasure Valley YMCA and sponsored by the ITD Wellness Program and Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center.

DeVonne Worthan of the YMCA will give the presentation and be accompanied by Jody Zauha, Program Manager for the State of Idaho Wellness Program.

The presentation also will be available to all ITD districts via video conferencing. To help presenters prepare for the event, employees who want to participate should confirm their attendance. Click Here to Register.

Believe it or not, the life you choose to live is your choice, according to presenters. That feels a little harsh, but it is true. Most of us struggle with the challenge of balancing work and a personal life.

However, the choice is always yours. We may not have control over our hours at work, but we do have choices about our personal lives.

Have you slowed down enough lately to consider what brings joy into your life? What brings you balance and creates a sense of wellbeing and happiness? If you cannot quickly answer those questions, perhaps you need to spend some time on you.

Bring your lunch and enjoy the presentation about Life Balance and Simplifying . It will be a great way to “de-stress” and re-focus.
