U.S. 95 expansion, realignment turns another corner Traffic on U.S. 95, between Chilco and the Silverwood theme park, shifted to a new alignment this week marking a major milestone in the expansion/realignment process. Crews are finishing roadway connections at both ends of the project area. Vehicles used the Pope Road frontage road during construction of the new segment. In addition to the new alignment, motorists also will notice the following changes:
The project expands and realigns U.S. 95 into a four-lane, divided highway, with interchanges at Chilco and Bunco Road near Silverwood. The contractor for this $36 million project is Scarsella Brothers, of Kent, Wash. The project is expected to be completed by fall 2013. Published 11-2-2012 |
