Need help with technology gifts?
Brown-bag presentation will offer sound advice on purchases

There was a time when all Johnny wanted for Christmas was a pair of skates; Susy wanted a doll and Nellie longed for a storybook. (Jolly Old Saint Nicholas).

Those days are long past. Today’s gift list might include an HD tablet, a 4G smart phone, a laptop, a new video game or an MP3 music player … all significant upgrades from the days of dolls and roller skates.

Which technology is appropriate for gift giving? What is the best investment? What specifications or features should you look for?

Technology is everywhere. We use it at work, at home and everywhere in between. The more you know about it, the more effectively you’ll be able to use it. ITD’s Training & Development, located at Headquarters, is ready to step up and help sort employees sort through the options.

It will offer a pre Black Friday brown-bag session, Technology Buying Guide, to help you make wise holiday gift purchases. The luncheon presentation will be from noon to 1 p.m., Tuesday in the Darrell V Manning boardroom and auditorium. No registration is necessary.

Recommendations for buying the latest technology gadgets will cover:

  • Laptops
  • Tablets
  • Smart Phones
  • E-Readers
  • Digital Cameras
  • And more!
