Governor, First Lady offer best wishes for holidays

This will be my last e-newsletter of the year, so the First Lady and I want to take a moment to reflect on the blessings we have received and to thank you all for your support this past year.

We'll be facing a number of challenges in 2013, but I'm optimistic.

We survived one of the most difficult economic downturns in several generations.

We held the line on taxes. We maintained vital government services and we even provided some tax relief with a little left over to replenish our rainy day funds. We've seen jobs starting to return to Idaho. Our economy is expanding. We are within reach of my Project 60 goal of growing our gross domestic product to $60 billion a year.

MSNBC calls us the most improved state for business in the country. So I'm looking forward to a very bright New Year indeed! The First Lady and I extend to you and your loved ones our best wishes for a merry Christmas and a blessed New Year.
