Public transportation group plans quarterly meeting Wednesday

The Public Transportation Advisory Council (PTAC) will review public funding policies and procedures, look at future federal options and receive statewide mobility program updates Wednesday in Boise.

The public meeting will be from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Best Western Plus Vista Inn at the Airport in Boise.

The group will consider new meeting structures, revisit organizational roles and responsibilities, and look at a new procedure for breaking tie votes. Discussions of performance measures and how the Federal Transit Authority allocates money also will is planned.

Meeting participants will learn more about federal funding for enhancing the mobility of seniors and individuals with disabilities, grants for rural areas and what’s new for bus and bus facilities’ programs. District updates will be provided as will a proposed statewide mobility management system analysis and plan.

Other organizations providing updates are the Idaho Rideshare Program and the Rural Transit Assistance Program (RTAP)

PTAC’s mission is to foster public transportation for all Idahoans across the statewide transportation system by increasing local and intercity services.
