Legislative review planned for WTS-Treasure Valley luncheon

The pounding gavel and a chorus of sine die signaled the end of the 2013 Legislative session recently – an 88-day season that included important transportation-related bills.

Mollie McCarty will provide an overview of key legislation that impacts transportation when she speaks at the luncheon meeting of WTS-Treasure Valley chapter April 23. McCarty, governmental affairs manager at ITD, will be the featured speaker. The one-hour luncheon begins at noon at the Riverside Hotel.

Reservations are required by Monday (April 15). Cost for the buffet lunch is $15 for WTS members and $18 for non-members. To register, visit the WTS website.

Individuals interested in investing in professionals of the future are invited to the 2013 WTS Scholarship Luncheon, May 8; the luncheon at the Riverside begins at 11:45 a.m. The fundraising event benefits the WTS-Treasure Valley Scholarship Fund. The cost is $25 for members and $25 for non-members.

Jim Everett, chief executive of the Treasure Valley YMCA, will be the guest speaker. WTS also will have a presentation by the YMCA youth leaders participating in this year’s Youth Transportation Academy.
