Adults should consider pertussis vaccination

Pertussis – more commonly known as whooping cough – is a contagious disease that has been rising in recent years.  But, did you know that you could avoid the disease along with discomforts associated with it and potentially lost work time by getting a vaccination?

Most people think they are immune to whooping cough because they were vaccinated as a child; the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDCP) recommends that adults have a whooping cough vaccination every 10 years.

See the CDCP website for more information.

Statistics show that summer months have the highest number of cases.  So, this would be a good time to get immunized. Contact your medical provider or health department for more information.
