FHWA division praises relationship with Internal Review

A weeklong working trip to Washington, D.C., gave officials from the Idaho Division of the Federal Highway Administration new appreciation for the service they receive back home.

“After spending a week in D.C. with my other FHWA division coworkers, I realized how good Frank (Tooke) and I have it to be working with you and your team,” Randy Rhuman wrote in an email this week.

He sent the unsolicited praise to Carri Rosti, manager of ITD’s Office of Internal Review.

“I found the other FHWA divisions do not have the great relationship with their state DOT that we have with your team, so I just want to say ‘Thank You’ for all you do for us,” Rhuman said. He is a financial specialist at the FHWA division office in Boise.

Tooke, FHWA”s Idaho Division financial manager, added: “I could not agree more.”

Rosti was quick to share the credit with her ITD staff.

“… Thank you very much Frank and Randy,” she replied. “However, it is mostly due to you two and the cooperative attitude of your division management. My counterparts are envious of our partnership. The greatest beneficiaries are the taxpayers. They reap the benefits of your being reasonable and wise.

“I should have mentioned my super-star staff. They help to make this all possible, too. If they weren’t so capable and efficient, we wouldn’t have any time to perform joint reviews.”
